The webcomics blog about webcomics

[Insert Bwow-Chicka-Wow Porn Music Here]

We got new comics, we got review requests, we got nudity. Onwards!

From Brian Wilson:

I have been reading fleen for quite a while now, and really enjoy you’re professional reviews and insights into the comic world. I have found alot of strips through fleen that i really enjoy and would never have found otherwise. Anyway, I was hoping you guys could take a crack at reviewing my strip. I really think your readers would like my strip, and professionally it would bragable on my end.

and similarly from Kevin Forbes:

Simulated Comic Product is a chronically under-reviewed webcomic. Just sayin’ :)

Guys, your heartfelt appeals touch me, on the inside; consider yourselves in the Queue of Review.

From Gerard Paapu:

Just a nitpicky thing, your visited links are the same color (or very close) to non-link text. I find it tricky to skim over articles and find comics I liked.

Gerard, you’re right — visited links are pretty close to black; we’re looking at finding a better color. Thanks for taking the time to tell us it was a problem.

Hi, I just wanted to let you guys know that we have a new video up on yourtube.com showing our recent panel appearance at MangaNext. You can see it from our site off of our tutorials page (see the link under the business section) or by directly going to our videos area on Youtube. You can also see our first video tutorial there.

Tutorials are always appreciated; thanks for the info!

Hey! I just thought you guys might want to peruse my webcomic. Thursday, Nov. 2nd, I will finally reach 50 strips after six months of publishing twice-a-week. Wire-heads.com started last March 2006 after many inspirational late nights reading Jennie Breeden’s The Devil’s Panties, Paul Taylor’s Wapsi Square and Chris Daily’s Striptease.

Glad to get the word out, Jimbo; you got some pretty impressive inspirations there, and living up to their example ought to yield a quality strip. Welcome to the fold.

From Barry Corbett:

I’ve published numerous webcomics on our website since 2000, but now I’m putting my energies into a new strip called Ginger & Shadow, which appears twice weekly at WebcomicsNation. If you have a chance, please drop by and have a look.

I just wanted to shamelessly plug my webcomic to you. It’s Hector! It’s a webcomic for everyone who grew up unashamedly obsessed with Greek mythology as a kid. It’s a webcomic for people who dream of, or perhaps have already, conned the entire world into temporarily accepting their IOUs. It’s a webcomic for the prophet in us, the thief in us, and in the road in us, although not always in that order. Whoever the hell this webcomic is for, I’d be delighted for you to look at it.

For some reason, I have the feeling that Richard was watching me in junior high school. Creepy.

And last but not least, this from Mike Rouse-Deane, who informs us:

Tastefully Done, the first ever nude webcomic characters calendar (a mouthful in itself) is now available from Lulu.com. [It] sees the likes of Ivan Pope, Ali Graham, Gordon McAlpin, Charles Woolbright, Chris Jones, Bryan Chojnowski, Pontus Madsen and Christian Fundin, Fred Grisolm, Philip Spence, Rich Dachtera, Robert Koch, and Ramón Pérez and Rob Coughler. The cover being designed by a truly great man, Ryan Estrada.

Each artist has allowed their webcomic characters to expose all for each specific month they occupy for Cancer Research in a hopes of raising quite a lot of money this year. The calendar costs $15 and all profits go straight to Cancer Research, no strings attached (or any other item of clothing either).

I’m hoping all those links are good. Let’s see, that’s a lotta talent in one product, a good cause you can support in good conscience, and bare-assed cartoon characters! What more could you want on a Friday afternoon?

Here’s the correct url for Ginger & Shadow. I didn’t know that off the top of my head, but I did know that WCN url’s can’t have ampersands in them, so that set me looking.

It’s a cute strip.

Huh, I had a little note here thanking Joey for his correction, and it’s gone. Regardless, he is still thanked.

Ack – I forgot to mention the wonderful Chris Simmons of Digital Strip fame! He’s in the calendar as well :)
